Do you believe in miracles?

Have you ever thought of asking a question to a celebrity, completely out of context to their field of expertise, and getting their response back? What if that celebrity is Virat Kohli – Indian cricket team captain and the question I wished to ask him was not about cricket and it’s about “Spirituality”

Ever since Kohli posted the above post about the book “Autobiography of a Yogi” in 2017, I always wondered “What’s Spirituality to him?”

Autobiography of the yogi – This book was introduced to me in the year 2013 by my uncle and I have held on to the softcopy of it ever since, I bought the hardcopy of the book in 2016.  I also presented this book as a birthday gift to my mother a year back.

Notable people who read this book and had a big impact on their life are “Rajinikanth” and Apple founder “Steve Jobs”.

The Last Gift Steve Jobs Gave To Family And Friends Was A Book About Self Realization & its ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’ by Paramahamsa Yogananda

I could relate Rajinikanth and Steve Jobs to spirituality because of their unique nature, Rajinikanth’s for his simplicity and down to earth nature amidst all his stardoms and Steve Jobs obviously due to the obsession with the products he was creating and bringing in zen-like simplicity into the complex products like iPhone.

Why Kohli? When Kohli posted the post about this book, I was on awe because no way I could connect his nature I had in my mind about him with spirituality, He was like a male-model, pin-up boy who knows about his game, hard-working, consistent but he was aggressive and he gave back whenever if anyone sledged him.

During this corona lockdown, Indian cricket team’s ace spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin was conducting live video sessions with other fellow cricketers “Reminiscence with Ash” talking about the game and memories.

Earlier, Ashwin was kind enough in answering a couple of questions I posted him in Insta chat about his contribution in 2014 T20 WC and posted another one to his show’s guest Manjrekar about his 96′ WorldCup catch to dismiss Ricky Ponting.

This Saturday Ashwin was conducting his last session and the guest turned out to be Indian captain Virat Kohli. I posted the three-year-old question to Ashwin to ask Virat Kohli during their discussion.

I had very little hope that Ashwin will ask this question to Kohli during their 30 minutes conversation about cricket but miraculously to my surprise, Ashwin posted this question “What is spirituality to Kohli” and got his response. This turned out to be the last question of their discussion and last question of “Remininscne with Ash” episodes.

You could watch the Kohli’s response below

It was definitely a dream come true moment for me as I was able to post the question(although not directly) to the Indian cricket team captain, the modern time cricketing legend  Virat Kohli but all that mattered to me was the answer to the question which I had from 2017.

Yes – Miracles do happen!!!
