Tamil word for God

I recently learned the meaning behind a word I have known all my life.

The Tamil word for God is கடவுள் : Kadavul. Kada (கட) means to cross. Ul (உள்ளே) means within.

God literally means: the one you find, after crossing inward.

I have heard and used this word a million times. Never once understood what it truly meant.

Because our society always gave God an image, a form, a frame, a temple address. Nobody told us the word itself was the teaching.

No throne. No distance. No outside search. Just you - crossing the noise, the ego, the endless wanting - and arriving at what was always already there
