Clear your search history

I got an opportunity to visit the house where we resided almost 22 years back, between 1996 to 1999. I was gushed with loads of memories of young school days, the street where I learned to ride bi-cycle, the time when grandparents were slightly younger and would visit us, friends, with whom I played during vacations or after school. Loads and loads of memory flooded through and it made my mind still for a moment or two.

I was reflecting on what has transformed and how I, and people around have evolved. One of the striking revelations was, as children we didn't have any baggage of memories, didn't have a point of view about anything, not pre judgemental, not prejudicial, each person met was so new, each situation faced was so fresh, each moment was so unique.

Now in my early 30s, I observe, we have a point of view about every situation or every subject we read, we have a prejudicial thought about every person we know, we consider to know what makes us comfortable or uncomfortable, happy or unhappy, anger or peaceful. Egotistically we pretend that we know what's right and what's wrong?

Are we all not pre-judgmental?

We are all like an artificially intelligent machine who could predict what could be the output of every moment with all the preexisting loads of data that had been fed to us.

I started clearing my baggage by doing very simple things. I cleared my search and watch history on Youtube and what happened was relevant videos and suggested topics got empty and I was able to watch completely different genres of albums, I became open to a new watchlist. The same repeated set of albums of the same or associated artists were dissipated, the channels with similar views and relevant channels were unloaded. It made me feel fresh.

This is very simple to do on youtube but can the same be done to our life? Is there a way to clear our life's search and watch history? Can we break the pattern? Can we be completely new to every moment? Can we listen more with awareness when someone speaks rather than just hear? Can we have the tastebuds dance every moment when we taste food? Can we live in totality?

I wish everyone is spontaneous and walks the path of life like treading on the edge of the world, more aware and living more dangerously and more open-minded.

Well done Guru-Ji! Yet another interesting perspective to think about! We’re pre-judgmental, we need to see the reviews to take a decision almost on everything. The scope to try new things become very thin. And coming back to the title of the blog, yes search history shouldn’t be maintained. Otherwise the idea of machine learning will soon become machine teaching(obviously with a new catchy name). Let‘s handle the smart phones smart!

Nice subject conveyed beautifully. Never prejudge anyone. A person you met years ago might be a completely new person now. The person might have evolved overtime. If you erase your old memory and approach them as a new person you can see a totally different personality in them now. If the data fed to artificial intelligent machine is stale it would give inaccurate results. It is easier said than done. But it is worth trying. Can’t agree more to OSHO’s words..

Very true maps. When I retrospect, I can clearly see that the moments in our past, decisions where we went without thinking much about the result, against the common social norms, prejudices were the time where we have lived truly...

Nice article...its eye opener for those who blames the past for the happenings...each and every day should be a new beginning and search for future..
